TRTR Chapter 2

Han Shuo’s complexion was clouded, and he opened his mouth for confirmation. “Who did you say you are?”

Chen Qianqian had already lifted herself onto her horse and arrogantly looked down at Han Shuo’s handsome face. Frivolously, she said, “Huayuan’s Third Princess, Chen Qianqian.”

Han Shuo was astounded. “Third- Third Princess?”

Chen Qianqian stared at Han Shuo’s perplexed expression, and she seemed pleased that he had such a reaction. Therefore, she smiled and nodded her head.

Han Shuo knit his brows, and the expression on his face seemed to be ever-changing.

The girl turned out to be Chen Qianqian!? How can it be Chen Qianqian!? Where did we mess up?

Han Shuo’s nerves rapidly fired off electrical signals, and suddenly, he thought of a way to deal with this troublesome situation.

In the next moment, Han Shuo’s face rapidly turned a deathly pale. His legs went soft, and he slowly sank to the ground while covering his chest with his hand. To top it off, Han Shuo’s bodyguard, Bai Ji, caught Han Shuo in his arms while acting overly dramatic.

“Crown Prince! Is your illness flaring up again?!” Bai Ji acted quickly and shoved a pill into Han Shuo’s mouth. While Bai Ji gently treated Han Shuo, he eagerly yelled, “Look at the Crown Prince! Crown Prince, are you alright? Wake up…”

After a while, Han Shuo slowly began to regain consciousness.

Astounded, Chen Qianqian looked at the scene that unfolded before her and raised her slim eyebrows in puzzlement.

Chen Qianqian approached him and asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

Han Shuo stood up using Bai Ji as support with great difficulty. He softly sighed and said pitifully, “Oh, you may not be aware that I have had a heart disease that flares up frequently since childhood. All the doctors predict that I won’t live to 20.”

Upon saying this, Han Shuo paused. The light in his eyes dimmed, displaying a sorrow that was etched deep into his heart.

To accompany Han Shuo’s act, Bai Ji quickly begged Chen Qianqian for leniency. “I’m afraid our Crown Prince doesn’t have the opportunity to live long enough to enjoy your favor. Please retract your order. If he were to die, it would wreak havoc to the marriage alliance between the two cities of Huayuan and Xuanhu.”

In response, Han Shuo placed his hand over his chest and cooperatively forced out two coughs.

Chen Qianqian’s eyebrows furrowed, and she said, “You’re terminally ill? If that’s the case.” As she was halfway through her sentence, her tone took a 180-degree turn. “Bring him to my mansion while he’s still alive!”

“…” Bai Ji was shocked into silence. After staring blankly for a long time, he said, “Nothing good will come out of forcing someone!”

Chen Qianqian indifferently waved her hand and said, “We have to try it at least.” She turned to look at Han Shuo. “You should go to the guest house and wash up. We’ll get married tomorrow. It seems you’ve been rather unfortunate to meet me today, haven’t you?”

After finishing her statement, Chen Qianqian tugged on the reins of her horse and left the scene. Zi Rui and the squadron of Huayuan guards quickly followed behind her.

Chen Qianqian arrogantly sped through the streets on her horse, narrowly missing an older man and a child. She galloped away from the near-accident indifferently as a string of curses called out to her from behind.

As everyone left the scene, the common people began to gossip amongst themselves.

One woman said, “I can’t believe he got engaged to Third Princess! That girl is the Devil’s incarnate and has been spoiled endlessly by the City Master. I wonder how Xuanhu’s Crown Prince will fare in the future.”

A second woman replied, “She kidnapped the groom in broad daylight!”

“Tsk Tsk. That Crown Prince’s health isn’t fantastic. I don’t know how long he will last by Third Princess’s side.”

Half an hour later, in the guest house, Bai Ji began to inform Han Shuo about Chen Qianqian.

Cautiously, Bai Ji stood beside Han Shuo and lowered his head to say, “Crown Prince, it seems the plan has changed… There are rumors that Chen Qianqian is tyrannical, lascivious, and has no regard for the law. She is illiterate and suffers from Princess Syndrome. She even ordered everyone in the city to treat her as a princess of the first rank.”

Han Shuo coldly smiled at Bai Ji’s words. “Third Princess? A city is too small for her, right?”

He had come to Huayuan city prepared, but how could he have not known that the girl in red was Huayuan’s Third Princess all along?

He was especially angry precisely because of his ignorance. To have his meticulous plan botched by such an arrogant moron was nothing less than a good slap to the face!

Under Han Shuo’s cold aura, Bai Ji shivered in fear, but upon seeing that Han Shuo was not saying anymore, Bai Ji continued, “But I clearly remember telling them to scare the horse of the Second Princess, Chen Chuchu. How did it become Chen Qianqian?! What do we do now? Crown Prince-”

“Things have already come this far. What can we even do?” Han Shuo interrupted.

“Crown Prince, then-”

Although the circumstances were unfortunate, Han Shuo’s facial expression was calm and composed. Rubbing his temples, he coldly said, “Act according to the circumstance.”

In another time and place, an unmarried woman lives in an apartment in the busy downtown district.

Inside, a girl with disheveled hair giggled hysterically as she stared at her computer screen. The young girl, a seventh-rate screenwriter, was called Chen Xiaoqian. As of now, she was pouring her blood, sweat, and tears into a feminist screenplay. As she furiously typed, Chen Xiaoqian’s face gradually began to reveal a foolish smile.

As she stared at the screen before her, Chen Xiaoqian elatedly giggled to herself, “The hero saved the wrong person and was forced into marriage by the female support character. I’m such a talented writer to be able to think of such an interesting story.”

On Chen Xiaoqian’s screen was the entire script of episode one of “The Tiger Sniffing the Rose.”
